Archive Project. Archive Project a workshop by Dolores Zinny and Juan Maidagan

During a two week workshop with a group of students from the Konsthögskolan i Malmö we were dedicated to discuss and formalize a possible model for a specific archive for the Lund Konsthall.

A possible model, because, one might think of restoring the deductive architecture/spirit that forms any family of concepts, contained by this frame: 'the never wholly achieved uncovering of the archives'. Fundamentally every artist exhibiting at the Konsthall will be asked to leave objects, books, pages, CD, etc. The aim of the workshop was to design models and sketches of the archive, with idea of developing its concept, including questions of intention, function and formality. Some of the questions arisen were: is its purpose completeness? or does it rather offer a jumbled collection of elements purposely taken from their realm and inserted into this new combination? Is this collection a logical answer and conclusion of each show? Or rather a starting point for the visitor who creates the meaning by the connection she makes?.
